The Irrigander 4/8 Expander is an 8 zone irrigation expander designed to expand systems that do not have additional outputs available on the irrigation controller. The Irrigander 4/8 Expander has 4 inputs that drive four output zones normally. After the Zone 4 input completes the Irrigander 4/8 Expander will run zones 5-8 with the timings recorded from zones 1-4. The new Version 2 Irrigander 4/8 Expander is even easier to install and offers even greater expansion capability.
The Irrigander 4/8 Expander is comprised of two modules: an Encoder that is installed close to or inside the sprinkler controller; a Decoder that is installed close to the valves to be controlled. The field wires attached to the irrigation controller's output controlling the valves to be expanded are disconnected and 3 field wires are connected to the 3 outputs on the Irrigander 4/8 Expander's Encoder. The 4 inputs to the Encoder are connected to 4 irrigation controller outputs. The 3 field wires plus the system wide common are connected to the Decoder and the outputs from the decoder are connected to the valves to be controlled (Irrigander 4/8 Expander diagram). Detailed specifications and operating instructions are in the User Guide, available below. Application information is available on our Applications page. |
