What is an Irrigation Expander? Irrigander Irrigation Expanders encode digital "channels" on an irrigation cable, allowing the already installed irrigation cable to control more valves than would otherwise be possible. Installing an Irrigander expander makes it easy to resolve sprinkler system wiring issues without having to incur the cost and difficulty of replace the existing cable.

Simple. Irrigander expanders use two components: the Encoder; and one or more Decoders. The Irrigander expander Encoder is installed at the sprinkler controller and is connected to one or more wires in the irrigation cable. The Decoder is installed close to the lawn sprinkler valves or garden irrigation valves to be controlled and is connected to the irrigation cable wires from the sprinkler controller. The Encoder and Decoder work together to control the valves. Once installed Irrigander expanders operate without attention.

Economical. Sub-dividing lawn sprinkler zones and garden sprinkler zones or adding drip irrigation zones is an easy way to conserve water and reduce sprinkler system operating costs. Irrigander expanders use the existing sprinkler field wiring from the irrigation controller so there is no need for trenching and for pulling new cable to drive new irrigation valves, reducing the cost of adding the new valves. An Irrigander expander can help conserve water but it can also be used to bypass broken irrigation controller wires saving money on a sprinkler system repair.
